Who here loves a good zoo trip?
I do for sure!
I have been to many zoo's in my life and the list of visited ones keep growing. Me and my husband make it a mission now to see a new zoo in whatever town, state, we visit. You may think they get old after awhile or they all offer the same thing so why keep going? Honestly, I think they are neat. You get to see that each state differs by the types of animals that are born and raised in that terrain, also to see how they are all set up differently and I like to compared them all; the type of attractions and what they have to offer.
Plus I love animals and the outdoors so put them together and it makes a great trip!
Mine and my husbands first official date was to a zoo. It was an all day trip and we ended up eating lunch with giraffes and warthogs on the other side of the ditch and low raised gate between us, the animals were playing in their watering holes with one another while we enjoyed our meal. It ended with me getting a necklace from the gift shop with a small wolf charm on it.
Wolves are my favorite animals by the way and out of all the zoo's I have been to only two had a wolf enclosure. I thought it was so awesome to finally go to a big enough zoo with these animals so as we reached their part of the park a big sign and chains blocked our path. The sign read "feeding time" and the animals were taken in for a while. I was upset, I thought I was finally going to see these beautiful creatures, but we left anyways to tour the rest of the grounds, and by the time we made it through the entire zoo we stopped back by the Wolf enclosure on our way out and this time we were able to walk closer up to the glass, but still no wolves. They were all in their dens and beds napping after full bellies. Then the other opportunity was when me and my husband went to a drive thru zoo recently and unknowingly there were three types of wolves there again all napping half hidden in beds and under shade but still could see most of them and it was incredible. Finally. Not to say it would be neat to see them more and again and active at that, but at least I was able to see some in some way.
There was another zoo trip I took with an old childhood friend during our college years where we were able to enter a bird enclosure and feed them as they flew around landing on our heads and arms eating from the bird treated sticks we held out. They were so tiny and colorful and tweeting all around.
Several memories with friends and family surround our trips to the zoo. Whether it was a birthday outing, school function, or a date and all unforgettable especially when it comes to seeing new exotic animals and unique layouts.
I plan to keep the zoo trips a must in my life.
Will you make zoo trips more?
