Are we Pumpkins?

Recently I saw somewhere that being a follower of God is like being a pumpkin (fitting for this November fall/thanksgiving time, don’t you think?)
The representation went like this:
First God picks you from the patch and brings you in. (John 15:16)
Secondly He then washes all the dirt off of you. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Third He opens you up and scoops out all the yucky stuff such as removing sin with the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. (Romans 6:6)
Fourth He carves you a new smiling face. (Psalms 71:23)
Fifth and Finally He puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see. (Matthew 5:16)
I like symbolisms such as these. Anything and everything can be turned into something meaningful and lead you to thinking further and in better ways by finding connections between events and items and letting this help you grow and move forward in life.
I hope this Pumpkin Patch story can help you.
Do you have a story of representation like this you can share?

The verses from NKJV connected with the above statements:
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in my name He may give you. -John 15:16
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. -2 Corinthians 5:17
Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. -Romans 6:6
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul, which You have redeemed. -Psalms 71:23
Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven. -Matthew 5:16
