BFF's

What does this mean?.........Best Friends Forever right?

I mean typically most kids know this whether its a group of girls who create the friendship bracelets with the lettered beads or those breakable necklaces that fit together to form the friendship hearts or even with guys whether they want to admit that best bud is a BFF but in actuality deep down they know he is.

But what I am asking in reality what is a best friend forever?

Think about it for a second. Because honestly the only BFF's I have seen or heard of are on TV and movies. I am not saying this cannot happen, because I hope somewhere it has and will. I think it would be pretty awesome to be born a friend due to your parents or mothers then you grow up together and stay connected through all the angst teen years then the tough figuring yourself out beginning of adulthood into middle age mid life crisis and then when you finally reach old age and can relax in retirement with one another sitting on a porch with that friend while drinking your evening coffee and looking at hard copy pictures that were put up in a photo binder of when you were babies and kids together and just sit and laugh about it all the good and bad times and just be happy in one another's presence, I mean yeah who would not want that? Someone that has shared it all with you from beginning to end.

Do not get me wrong for one I do count my husband as my best friend but I do have girlfriends that are besties, but I cannot add that forever until we actually make it to forever and does it still count if we were not besties from birth?

These thoughts just ran through my mind as one of my closest friends got married this past weekend. At one point I was told I would be giving a speech as the MOH so I started thinking on the words I would speak to the loved ones of the couple and they came instantly. I guess they came fast because despite it all, our differences and the many years it has been since becoming friends in the 10th grade of high school we still can call on one another and immediately be there for each one. During her wedding planning and all the events that took place such as dress shopping days and girls nights so many ladies involved in it all were shocked that we were and remain friends after high school. Not saying this will not change one day, but as of now our friendship has lasted four about twelve years. To some people this may not seem long, but for me it is and even for a few people I met at the wedding as they asked me how I knew the bride.

So I guess I am creating this post just to ask, do you have a legit BFF?

I hope you do, because I think I do, maybe even more then one.
