Forgetting the Day

I created my Thanksgiving post yesterday in hopes to remind everyone what the day represents especially during these times, and by the end of it forgot to take my own advice. With all the hustle and bustle of trying to get to every home, see every family member, prepare the food in time, you forget to just sit down and listen. Chat and catch up with one another. To be grateful they are in your life to begin with instead of getting upset with them over something petty or pushing them aside to rush off to something else. In the end it does not matter if you did not get those dumplings you were hoping for or that two-way conversation to talk about what is going on in your life as well that you may have been needing, what matters is you have family & friends there with you to begin with, you had food to eat instead of none, a way to get back and forth between them all. I get so caught up in life sometimes I forget to just take a pause, step back, and realize I am thankful for everything, for all of it, for everyone. Every night I do thank God for what I have, for who I am, but I need to be thankful throughout the day and not just at the end of it. I need to be thankful even in those times of being rushed or aggravated or insulted, we all should.

I think I know that now...

Do you?
