What do you think is my favorite tv show? Can you tell from the blog title itself or by the picture attached? Are there some of you that do not know who the Golden Girls even are? If the answer to that question is you do not know, you should definitely check them out!
I love the Golden Girls. I have every episode on DVD and have watched and rewatched each disc so many times the disc themselves are getting worn out and not wanting to play properly anymore. I can watch the Golden Girls no matter the day nor the mood I am in. I click it on in the mornings as I am getting up and ready or switch it to the channel if they have a marathon playing on the hallmark channel. I can speak almost every line word by word as each character is speaking jokingly annoying my husband who tries to flip it off not understanding how I can watch something over and over again without getting tired of it myself.
One of my meemees, a grandma, my mother's mom, first introduced me to the show when I was just a little girl. She had a small square old fashion tv (the ones before flat screen) that sat in the middle of her bedroom on a small nightstand at the foot of her bed in which she would cut on Golden Girls and I would lay there next to her just watching and listening laughing at every pun made whether their jokes made sense to me or not at that time, but I heard the show's background laughter play within the show that was recorded in and I would laugh right along with it. Since then Golden Girls have stuck with me.
Me, my twin sister, my mom, and my aunt (my moms sister) like to joke and say us four represent a character each from the show. I am usually Rose. No complaint here, Rose is by far one of my favorites and one of the funniest with her goofy upbeat personality, but she comes in to a close tie with Sophia's witty hilarious comebacks, remarks, and stories, but no matter how old the show is or how old I get I will not let the Golden Girls leave me. It has helped create some of the fondest memories of my grandma and loved ones that I cherish and cannot go back to.
How about you?
If there is one show that is your go to, what is it? Is there one you and your family would joke about and say you were just like them? Just let me know! I would love to find out.
