Well just a few more days and Christmas will have finally arrived. Is everyone done with their shopping for gifts or food? What about those needing to pack and may be traveling to see family or go else ware? What about your decorations? Have you put up your tree or any lights?
Maybe you are waiting for the day to draw near, the night before. That is okay, but is it stressing you to get it all done? To get all those gifts wrapped that have been sitting somewhere in the dark out of the way?
If not I am sure that crunch for time is kicking in.
As we near the day the parking lots of stores are filling, check out lines are growing; with those last minute shoppers or those who forgot one ingredient to the pie they normally make and have to speed on down to the store and get it before everything closes, before everyone arrives. May be you made a list and now having to check it twice to make sure all should be as it should be.
Whatever your case is especially for those that drive themselves crazy for this one time of year I just ask we remember one thing as we go about trying to do what is needed or that we think is needed, just remember what this day really is and how it came about to begin with.
You know I was thinking on my traditions post last week and I realized I left out one. I stated what we did each time we were able to spend it with our mom, but I do remember one we did with my dads family whenever it was our year to spend it with them. We would go to my grandparents, my dads parents, and before opening gifts we would gather about in a large room with one another and my pawpaw would read the Christmas story out of the bible, Jesus's birth, now as time has passed my Uncle now normally reads it, but we do this in remembrance of why this particular day is so great and why it is here to be celebrated to begin with and for who.
Over time this can be forgotten. I think we get so caught up in spending money or stressing ourselves out to have it all done that by the time of year actually gets here we no longer have the energy to celebrate it. To actually sit down and just enjoy one another's company. We worry and care to much about the gifts and getting from one place to the next. About it coming then wanting it gone to finally sit back and sleep after the hustle and bustle. Then save up and already prepare for the next go around.
Now even if your beliefs do not match mine that is okay. Just know the day is worth it. No matter how tired you are by the end of it or the thought of what all has to be taken down and put back up to await for next years celebration. The mess that needs to be cleaned or what you could have been doing instead. Just spend time with one another. Make memories to last. Create new traditions if you have none.
And then once it is finally over and the day has truly passed you can sleep peacefully and stress free and may be look forward to your next Christmas instead of dreading the rush and expense of it all.
So to end I just want to say Merry Christmas Everyone, I Hope you all Enjoy Celebrating This Day and Time of Year!
