It happened!
We finally had a semi small snow day here in the small town we live in!
I know there are some states, some homes that see and experience snow quite often, but here in our town we do not. Schools, roads, businesses shut down at just the mention of iced over roads or possible predicted snow mixed with rain. I love the sight of it and enjoyed it even with it being just a little bit here and there. Hunter as pictured loved it as well. He was running around playing in it. Would eat piles of snow flurries and lap at the melting icicles. Bella was a bit scared watching and listening as it fell near her. Sugar and Spice staying under the covered porch away from it freezing within their fur coats, and our cats despised it staying huddled under there heat lamps within there cat bed crates on the back porch. By morning hopefully more has fallen showing snow fields covered and may be giving us a chance to build a snowman.
Who knows?
I have seen snow a few times here and there, but there has only been one time I have seen real true snow or actually thick piles high snow and that was during my honeymoon when we traveled to Estes Park, Colorado and it was an incredible!
It was extremely cold, but a different kind of cold than where we live, it was bearable and dry. I was able to wear my toboggans and gloves, thick jackets and boots. Since I am so small if I strayed from any trails I would be knee deep in the snow almost hidden. It was unforgettable sights being able to walk amongst the mountains and how water still flowed through the snow like it was nothing. Not fully frozen yet. As you can see between the different sets of pictures you can even tell our snow is different from the snow we saw in Colorado. Although trailing in Colorado snow was scary at one point almost getting lost within the wooded snow covered forest with the continuing falling snowflakes covering our footprints we left behind becoming hidden completely as we walked out onto the edge of a cliff off trail unable to find our way back. As the sun lowered and after about an hour we finally came across small wooden signs with arrows pointing us back on our way. As we continued to walk we finally found more trail walkers and tourists knowing we had made our way back. Snow not being our familiar atmosphere we were not use to traveling within it, but have learned, or slightly have. Still much to know and see.
I know it may just simple and white, but the way it covers the ground and trees is just a nice sight to see especially if you are like me and only see it once every few years if that.
Who else agrees with me and finds the snow comforting and beautiful?
Do you like the snow just as well or is it a sight you see often and grow tired of?
