After the past few new movies I have watched I felt compelled to form a part three to my movie blogs. If reading the other two parts I have written you would see movies play a big part in my life. Now, I understand movies are not reality and the two cannot mix meaning we must not confuse our reality with this fiction but why can’t we watch these movies and learn from them?
Within the last month or so some movies I have watched include Raya and the Last Dragon, Encanto, and Ron’s gone Wrong. If you have not watched these movies then here is the gist of what I got from them.
Raya and the Last Dragon: Trusting one another from separate cultures, groups and relying one another to help better the world for everyone’s future.
Encanto: Finding your place within a family while struggling beneath expectations and showing being different is okay while learning to love and change despite being afraid and worried of whta the future holds and that what was expected may not be how you can live.
Ron’s gone Wrong: In a world of technology that technology can be abused and not perfect and disconnects us from others, but it can in ways help us connect if properly used and if we remain ourselves without getting lost in it.
Now granted these are all animated and yes there are live action movies that have meaning behind them, but these are just the ones I have seen recently, and they all portrayed story lines that our world is struggling with today. A nation divided, a time of constant struggles and brokenness, lack of loyalty and trust and appreciation.
I am aware and acknowledge I struggle with these things in some way or another and know I need to be better, try harder, and I do look forward to doing so within this new year.
I do wonder if others see it too and will try with me.
So, what are you thinking?
Do movies with meanings like this turn on a bulb inside your mind and get you wondering about your future, the world’s future as a whole?
I hope you can share with me just as I share with you some thoughts for you to reflect on while sippin’ on your morning coffee today.
