Trip Around the U.S. Part 5

Gotta love that Florida sunshine!

I have been to Florida twice now. In 2014 & 2019.

In 2014 I took a trip to Panama City Beach, Florida with a friend and her mother and grandmother.

We drove the whole way there and the whole way back. It was quite an unforgettable experience. We were woken up early each morning in which we would immediately go to the beach and pretty much have it to ourselves which was nice. Our hotel was on the beach front where all we had to do was just walk through a wooden gate and bam there was the white sand and clear blue ocean. In the mornings the water was so calm and peaceful creating a see through surface. We could see all the fish of different kinds passing by and watch as they swam up to our ankles and feet. We saw and caught small hermit crabs that were crawling along the shallow in the sand. A creepier thing that happened was when looking out into the deep due to the clearness of the water we could see much larger sea creature shadows swimming by but since so far not clear enough to see why type. One looked like a large wiggly sea snake and some large fish. It is hard to explain, but was a sight for our eyes.

During our stay we were able to visit an aquarium and ride with the dolphins. It was quite fun despite the fact I almost slipped off the ridge grabbing the training almost pulling her in with me. Then at night we would go out on the beach again and look around with flashlights and catch crabs. One was very large. All in all a great fun trip!

In 2019 me and my husband went for our one year anniversary to Indialantic, Florida.

On our way we drove the whole way there making stops here and there in Florida at state parks and nature trails to site see and hike. It was different then the hikes we were used to. The trails were sandy with palm trees and a lake at one was clear see through with blue tiny crabs. Something we had not seen before. We stayed at a small friendly B&B that was very welcoming and a sidewalk away from the beach. Unfortunately during our stay its was rainy and cloudy 75% of the time, but this did not stop our fun. We were at the beach each evening being thrashed by the waves off the coast.

During our stay we had a boat tour guide of the Banana River where we saw dolphins and manatee with their babies. It was very cute and neat to see them in their natural habitat. During our tour our guide was quite funny and informative and at the end gave us a quiz in which I answered correctly and won a prize. We also drove over to the nearby town Melbourne, Florida where we went to their town square theater that had a fancy set up inside stairs that went up to a ballroom and inside reminded you of a classic older movie setting. Once more a reason we love to visit other town theaters and see their style and set up.

One day we spent it traveling a main highway up the coast over a tall large bridge to several different beach turnoffs where one led us to a sunny clear beach with soft waves and wind where we saw a few sea turtles wading in the deep not to far from shore. Another great Florida trip!
