Very Merry

The past few days have just flown by. Fun filled with family gatherings, old plus new traditions, laughter, food, and so much more. Christmas has once again come and gone. I am very fortunate and my Christmas was very merry due to the huge family I have.

When I was younger others would tell me and my sister we were lucky to have divorced parents, that meant two of everything; gifts, homes, Christmas's, birthdays and honestly I do not remember ever viewing it like that and now that I am older all I see is what it has given me. Four incredible parents, an enormous family that continues to grow, plans to complete and carry out my days between our gatherings extending the holidays throughout the days just so we can see everyone and spend time with them, along with doubling the games and memories to make and last.

This year gingerbread houses were created, homemade gingerbread and wassail filled our stomachs, the game white elephant brought our families together in such a fun way getting everyone involved, reminiscing over log burning fires and cups of coffee kept us up late and helped us wake up early, catching up with relatives we have not seen in so long put joy in our hearts. I'd say this has been a Very Merry Christmas, one to not forget and one that has hopefully created stories for future telling over fires and traditions that have now been started to keep on going for years to come.

How about you? Was this year's Christmas as Merry for you as it was for me?
