Howling Moon

Can you guess what this blog could be about?

If your answer is no it is simple, it howls at the moon, it is already photo'd here, and it is my favorite animal (which was mentioned in my A Trip to the Zoo blog).

Yes, wolves.

I am not entirely sure a specific reason as to why nor can I pin point it to one thing or one moment as a kid where I picked out a wolf and said "Yes, that is my favorite animal". I just know wolves are beautiful creatures and may be in a way I connect them to dogs (in which if you cannot tell yet I love) due to they are in the same canine families, but wolves are relatable? If you can understand that.

I know like any wild animal they can be misperceived as vicious only and will attack which I know is true at times, but when researching or looking into it they are just like any other living organism trying to live and survive and that is not all they do or are.

Wolves mate for life and are such great caregivers due to they have to take extremely good care of their pups since they are born blind and deaf and remain this way until up to at least ten months after birth.

Just like we are at caring for our young or when we find a spouse or partner.

I also always liked the term "lone wolf" and connected with it, but never truly knew what it meant, just thought I did from what we have characterized it as. A lone wolf for wolves is actually a good thing in some eyes and ways. They leave a pack not because of fear or being pushed out, not always anyways, but they leave out on their own to find their way, their path, create a new family and to possibly be part of something bigger and greater and to keep the gene line going. Now isn't that what we too do? Are we normally taught that as we grow up to find ourselves and figure out where to go when leave our parents home, the "den"?

As long as a wolf has been my favorite animal I did not know many of these interesting facts until researching into them to create this blog.

Do you think wolves behave like us, what about any other animal we may perceive as bad or scary?

(Addition: Yes, my babies seem to like wolves to and even try to sound like them😉😄).
